Come Write In Locations
Write-Ins are one of the wonderful foundations of NaNoWriMo. You hear about them often and, sometimes, people aren't entirely sure what they are or what they involve. Usually write-ins are organized by your area ML's (Member Liaisons), but in a spread out region like ours we rely on our wonderful Come Write In (CWI) locations to help us organize write-ins around the province.
What is a write-in?

it is an arranged meeting of Wrimos for the purposes of writing our novels with the help and encouragement of other writers

they typically take place in public venues where you would normally find writers - coffee shops, diners and libraries.
What happens at a write-in?

Word wars - sometimes referred to as word sprints - which are short, intense timed bursts of writing that are often viewed as a form of friendly competition. They are typically 10 or 15 minutes long, but they can be of any length. The goal is to write as much as possible without stopping in that time and then compare results with your fellow writers.

chat and encouragement. Yes, there is a lot of chatter that happens at write-ins as well as lots of writing. It's exciting to meet others that are on the same journey as you! It's also a great time to get encouragement and advice from fellow writers.
What is a Come Write In (CWI) location?
Come Write In locations are libraries, book stores or other locations that have signed up to donate their space and host write-ins and other events. If an ML lives near one of these locations they will often attend these events as well. Although, due to the nature of the Alberta::Elsewhere this isn't often the case.
Is there a CWI location near me?
This year we are blessed with many wonderful CWI locations who have donated their space and time to help promote this wonderful endeavor of creativity.
